Growing up in Omer, MI, Shane’s passion for carpentry was cultivated at a young age while working by his Dad’s side building their family home – board by board, nail by nail.
In his early teens, you’d often find Shane up at the neighbor’s or over at a friend’s painting, fixing or remodeling all sorts of things.
At the time, no one realized that this hands-on experience was actually laying the groundwork for a career in the trades – and that the knowledge and expertise he was acquiring would become such a valuable asset for his future At Home Inspection clients.
Eventually, Shane soon moved into a career as a heat and frost insulator. With eight years in the field, he proved himself a competent professional, even competing in state and national competitions, landing wins in central state conferences.
But for many union trade pros, their positions require extensive travel, and Shane’s was no exception.
Fast forward to 2016, Shane welcomed his first born into the world. With his family expanding, he knew it was time to leave the traveling behind and shift his career direction to something that would keep him closer to home.
That’s when he and his wife, Kayla, decided to take his 15 years of trades experience, complete his professional inspector certifications and launch their family business – At Home Inspections. From day one, they’ve been passionate about providing 5-star service to clients in Mid & NE Michigan counties with home inspections and testing you can trust.
Shane, Kayla and their 2 children, Taylor and Tyler, currently reside in Auburn, Michigan. When not working, you’ll find the whole family out enjoying northern Michigan every chance they get.
